Founded on the hillsides of Vandiperiyar
SM Bee Keeping Unit is a dedicated honey farm in the hills of Vandiperiyar, Idukki, at the heart of the Western Ghats. Founded in 2023 by Shinu M, the farm was built on a simple idea: produce pure, natural honey while protecting the bees and biodiversity that make it possible.
Our colonies forage across wild forest flowers, cardamom plantations, medicinal herbs, spice crops and native flowering trees — a floral range that gives every batch its own distinctive character. Beyond honey, our bees quietly power pollination across the region, supporting local farms and forests alike.
Today we manage 127 Indian bee colonies and 7 stingless bee colonies, and we're just as invested in training the next generation of beekeepers as we are in the honey itself.
